Second, what sport do you want to work in? You have choice: Baseball; basketball; football; hockey. Third, if you're concentrating on one sport, how deep have you gone? If it's baseball have you just contacted the major leages? You need to: - Focus on what you want to do
- Focus on the sport or sports
- List all (U.S., Canada, Europe, etc.) the franchises, major or minor, of that sport
- Find all the trade journals, professional organizations and associations for that sport
- Find out all of the trade shows, meetings and conferences for that sport
- List the top 100 people in the area that you are most interested in for that sport
- Now, create a plan that will turn that information into action. you must:
- Develop job search skills
- Package yourself to sell
- Uncover the unpublished job market
- Develop relationships with leaders in the sports industry
- Access decision makers
