ORIGINAL FOUNDER...ORIGINAL VISION A message from Mark Tudi, President of SPORTS CAREERS: When I was graduating from College over 30 years ago, I knew the only place I wanted to work was in the Sports Industry...but I didn't have a clue as to how I could get help to break in. I learned quickly that without the right contacts, resources, an understanding of where to go, who to meet and how to access decision makers and unpublished jobs, I was never going to get connected with the inside. The result was SPORTS CAREERS. My goal in creating SPORTS CAREERS was to give people like myself the tools they need to succeed in developing and managing a career in the Sports-related Industries. Soon after its inception, SPORTS CAREERS proved to be the foremost leader in comprehensive sports employment training and development, offering its members access to conferences, seminars, audio tapes and resources aimed specifically at helping them learn how to get connected with the inside of the sports industry. Throughout its history, tens of thousands of sports enthusiasts have started or enhanced their careers with the help of SPORTS CAREERS. My mission and passion has always been to help people develop real career options by guiding them into industry segments and positions that parallel their skills and ambitions. As SPORTS CAREERS grew, so did its clout in the sports industry. I sold the company and ownership changed during the 1990's and steadily evolved into an online job board. New ownership chose not to continue offering the staple factors of SPORTS CAREERS that had held the most value to its members. It was for that reason that I reacquired SPORTS CAREERS in 2006. I resolved to renew the original SPORTS CAREERS vision that had sparked so many careers and helped so many people work in the field that they love. For the past 18 months, we have worked to recreate the door-opening power of SPORTS CAREERS in order to unlock the potential in sports professionals everywhere. The Sports Industry has grown to over $500 billion in annual revenue, with millions of job opportunities spread over 50+ marketplace segments. This confirms the enormous demand - and great need - for qualified individuals to have resources and career path guidance in the Sports & Entertainment Industries. SPORTS CAREERS is not just for Job Seekers or those "on the outside, trying to get inside", but also for the millions of professionals currently working in Sports in need of a unified, Industry resource that is focused on helping those already working to recognize where their career has been, where it is now, and where it is going.
