Head Groundskeeper - Neward Bears Professional Baseball Team

The Newark Bears-2002 Atlantic League Champion will be entering their 6th season in 2004 and are looking to fill the position of Head Groundskeeper.

This position is responsible for all field maintenance including, fertilization, pesticides, turf and skin areas. Schedule all maintenance & repairs necessary for field and equipment throughout year. Candidates must have knowledge of sand based fields. Develop and manage relationships with outside vendors, negotiate prices and contracts. Order supplies, maintain inventories and budgets. Manage pre game set up & post game break down of field operations. Hire, train and supervise full-time hourly employees and game day staff. Represent the team in positive fashion year-round. Be a team player. Actively participate in other operational functions as necessary.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of turf management experience. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiation skills. Long hours, weekends and a flexible schedule are all required.Back to top

Description:
This position will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Mammoth's e-commerce system. The position will continue to add e-commerce functionality on the main website, including features such as an on-line retail shop, hotel/condo reservations, and integration with an external GDS system. Using AJAX, ColdFusionMX, Flash Remoting, ASP.NET and SQL this resource will integrate e-commerce functionality with our existing guest service platforms (Agilysys [formerly VisualOne] and Siriusware). This position will also be responsible for configuring and maintaining all hardware used to deliver web content and must be familiar with Linux, Apache, IIS and MySQL administration. The position will work collaboratively with other developers so the successful candidate must have good communication skills and be comfortable working in a team environment.

Requirements:

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
-At least 4 years of proven experience developing web applications/content. Successful candidates will have the following qualifications:
-Experience designing and developing complex, large scale ColdFusionMX applications, including application framework and application optimization techniques.
-Server administration experience with ColdFusionMX, Apache, MySql and Linux (Redhat and Debian).
-Proven experience with Object-Oriented programming, AJAX, SQL, CVS and CSS.
-Solid Experience with Actionscript, ASP.NET, IIS and MS SQL a plus.
-Proven experience designing and developing e-commerce functionality such as shopping carts, storefronts, and other essential components to the on-line shopping experience.
-Database experience with MySQL and MS SQL Server.
-Experience in user interface design, navigation, site architecture, and usability.
-Familiarity with requirements engineering and software specification development.
-Familiarity with content management and versioning.

Duties also include proposal writing, contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel and resort staff to ensure a high level of service.

Requirements: A minimum of 1-3 years of hotel sales, catering or conference services or comparable experience required. Must be proficient in general computer knowledge, both Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidates should be extremely personable, detail oriented, organized and able to handle a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Mammoth Mountain operations and community.

Marketing Manager - Ticketmaster

This position will assist the local GM in sales presentations, product demonstrations, proposals and general queries regarding the Ticketmaster software. Duties also include developing marketing plans for existing clients’, negotiating new business, drive sales of new e-ticketing products, and meeting departmental goals for ticket sales. Candidate will oversee promotional activity, including maintaining all existing client and media relations, plus establishing new relationship with local media and third party sponsors. Oversee the production of Ticketmaster’s marketing vehicles such as Entertainment Weekly/Sports Illustrated Guides, Ticketmaster Hot Sheet; and be ponsible for updating and creation of Ticketmaster-On Line promotions and local pages.


The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years Marketing/Promotions and/or Sales experience; should possess strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment. Salary range is 28K-31K based on experience.

International Regional Sales Support - Daktronics


Daktronics international region sells products outside the United States borders. International region deals with products and projects in sports, business and government sectors with the majority of projects being sport stadiums, Olympic Games. Sales team consists of field sales, local resellers and inside sales support. Students assist with proposal booklets, updating Entice, research, mailings, phone support and filing.
 
Assemble sales literature books. Update region on new literature. Be responsible for reseller updates/newsletter. 4. Organize and collate existing files. Candidates must be able to file in reverse chronological date order. Assist with mailing and faxes. Answer phone calls from inside and outside callers, take messages, and transfer calls appropriately. Type transmittals/correspondence/quotes. Accurately and timely entry of customer information into database. Perform general support duties as needed or assigned to support business communications. Regularly and reliably work scheduled hours.

Qualified candidates will be enrolled in a curriculum leading to a Bachelor’s degree in business, foreign languages or similar field. Computer software experience in Word is required. We prefer experience with Excel and Access. Accurate typing skills (minimum 45wpm) are required. Candidate must be able to work independently and must be a self-starter. Good organizational skills are required. Position requires good phone skills and the ability to take accurate messages.     Lowe's Motor Speedway needs highly motivated interns with a desire to excel in the areas of public relations, project management, corporate sales, event planning and management, logistics, restaurant and hospitality, finance and sports broadcasting.     Orientation for Interns

    After an applicant accepts the offer of an internship, he/she will be asked to sign a simple statement of agreement that, among other things, sets forth the intern's understanding that the internship is not paid and does not guarantee or imply future employment; in addition, it includes a covenant of confidentiality. Interns are also asked to provide us with emergency contact information and fill out a tax form in the event they are paid the Semester Stipend (explained below). Sometime during the first week of their internship, LMS will treat interns to lunch in the Speedway Club to welcome them on board.

    Semester Stipend

    Internships are unpaid positions at LMS. However, as a token of gratitude, all interns who complete the semester internship and work the race events held during the semester internship will receive a stipend.

    School Credits

    Some interns will seek or be required by their schools to get academic credit for completing an internship. While the LMS employees will be available to work with interns to secure the necessary authorizations for such credit (including necessary communication with the colleges), it will be the responsibility of each intern to arrange for the completion of all necessary paperwork to certify course credit.
