Bowling / Billiards

Billiards has grown steadily at a single-digit pace for several years, aided by a strong housing market, an increase in participation and an expanding retail base. With nearly 41 million participants in 2004, billiards is notably one of America’s favorite pastimes. Billiards experienced a sudden burst of popularity in the mid 1990’s as the sport’s image moved out of the pool hall and into upscale, coed billiards parlors.

Bowling is said to be one of America’s most popular sports with a market of young people and families, as well as league bowlers who are often the consumers of balls, shoes and other bowling accessories. In order to increase sales, bowling ball manufacturers have developed novelty balls, such as those made of clear resin with items embedded inside, in order to bring in extra revenue.
