Hockey | Hockey is a game that is currently played in the United States, Canada, Europe and in many other countries around the world. Hockey originated as a rural game that was played on the frozen ponds in Nova Scotia. Today, hockey is played at many different levels including the youth, junior, collegiate, semi-professional and the professional level.
The single greatest upset in sport history was when the United States beat the Soviets 4-3 in the semi-finals of the 1980 Winter Olympics. At the time, the National Hockey League was 13 percent foreigners, but after this upset and with additional factors, the league today is roughly consisted of 50 percent foreigners. With its increasing popularity and its broad spectrum, hockey provides a multitude of job opportunities at all of its various levels and in the many countries in which it is played. | | | |
